Transporters celebrate National Act for Transport Worker Day

Chaired by Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, Member of the Political Bureau of the CCPCC and Secretary General of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, CTC, Félix Duarte, Member and Head of the Department of Industry, Construction, Tourism, Transportation and Services of the Central Committee of the Party, Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, MCs. Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, Minister of Transport and Fermín Umpierre Iraola, Secretary General of the National Union of Transport and Port Workers, the National Act for Transport Worker Day was carried out by videoconference.

With the placement of a floral offering, by representatives of different branches of the sector, before the bust of the Apostle José Martí, located outside the Central Organ, prior to the personalized welcome greeting to all the workers, the National Commemorative Act began To date, the Act recognized the work carried out by carriers from the dissimilar activities of the sector, in the midst of the current situation that the country is experiencing with the intensification of the US blockade and the limitations it has imposed, as well as the impact caused by COVID 19.

In his speech, comrade Fermín Umpierre, S / G SNTTP, outlined the significance of these 50 years of the SNTTP's constitution and the role played by the generations of carriers that preceded those who today, following their legacy, continue in the front line of combat. : the economic and social development of the country.

Likewise, the Minister of Transport, Eduardo Rodríguez, recognized how transporters have grown in the face of difficulties and that the dissatisfaction that still persists will continue to be an incentive to think about new solutions and alternatives that allow us to start each day a bit of the problems that appear in the sector, with the certainty that Cuban state and non-state transporters can always be counted on.
