They will carry out the first Nautical Safety Week in Cuba

The first Nautical Safety Week organized in the country will take place between June 14 and 21, 2021, as part of the strategy developed by Cuba in the interest of achieving a maritime culture and awareness of state and private vessel operators. The main objectives of this conference are to promote actions that help guarantee safe navigation and prevent events or accidents at sea that could cause loss of human life, costs to the economy and damage to the environment.Among other activities, the Week includes videoconferences and instructive talks on nautical safety with shipbuilding institutions and boat operators; the celebration of the Navigator's Day with actions to prepare the personnel, the review of the means of rescue and safety of human life at sea on board the naval facilities, as well as the means, methods and routes for signaling and warning of emergencies and accidents. In addition, exchanges will be carried out in the bases of sport fishing and search and rescue actions. The call for the pioneer drawing and poetry contest "Amiguitos del Mar" is also planned and will conclude with a nautical parade on Saturday 19 of June, in unison in Havana, Santigo de Cuba and Cienfuegos, in which Search and Rescue units of the Border Guard Troops will be present. Due to their importance in the implementation of the Cuban strategy, it is expected to hold these weeks annually, in which The ministries of Transport, Tourism, Food, Science, Technology and Environment, INDER, the Guardafro Troops will be involved, among other institutions.
