Under the slogan “A just future for seafarers”, we heeded the call made by the International Maritime Organization, which urged us to carry out actions that recognize the importance of the work that seafarers carry out every day. To fulfill this task, the Cuban Maritime Administration carried out a group of activities at the national level in which the role played today by the large number of seafarers who work in our entities was recognized, which were:
- Work was carried out to beautify the premises with the international signaling flags.
- Educational exchanges were carried out between a group of captains, machine chiefs from the central office, and instructors from the Maritime Interest Circle of the Palace of Pioneers.
- Visit to the hydrocarbon spill response department, where they showed the seafarers of the AMT Occidente the equipment available today to respond to an event of this type offshore.
- Tour of the Osvaldo Sanchez dock and visit to the Tormenta 1 tugboat to convey the congratulations for the day of the seafarers to all its crew.
- Institutional Act at the Central Office of the AMC for the day of seafarers.
- Contest of knowledge of the meanings of the signaling flags used for the decoration of the entity.
In this way we celebrate the day of #GenteDeMar complying with all the necessary safety regulations.
