The United Nations dedicates International Days that give us the opportunity to sensitize the general public on topics of great interest, such as human rights, sustainable development or health. At the same time, they aim to get the attention of the media. As we are closely concerned, Seafarers' Day is an official international observance day for the UN and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) which is celebrated on June 25 of each year. The IMO motto in 2021 is "Seafarers: at the heart of the future of maritime transport." Although there are still days to go, it is always positive to remember active and retired seafarers, merchants, warfare, fishermen, in short , to all those who dedicated their lives and efforts to this self-sacrificing profession. On the occasion of the celebration of "Seafarers Day", the International Maritime Organization is conducting a series of surveys related to what to do with workers in the area maritime-port and their respective areas of performance. Under the call: "Seafarers, we listen to you" the IMO urges workers in the sector to express their opinion in order to direct efforts to the issues of greatest concern and relevance to the Gente de Mar. These surveys will be available through the website and social networks until June 25. We invite you to be part of this process that will allow defining future actions for the continuous improvement of the measures safety, health and working conditions Enter the surveys here: https://www.imo.org/.../Pag.../Day-of-the-Seafarer-2021.aspx
