Proclamation of International Maritime Women's Day

In Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of the International Maritime Organization, May 18 was officially proclaimed as the "International Maritime Women's Day", with the slogan "Our day, your day, the day of women in the maritime sector"

This date was proposed by the Network of Women of Maritime Authorities of Latin America - Red MAMLa, which have been intentionally working together with other Maritime Authorities in the empowerment of women in the maritime port sector.
