From March 16 to 18, the Permanent Secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), together with CAF - development bank of Latin America and the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), convene the VI Latin American and Caribbean Meeting of Port Logistics Communities, in Panama City (in hybrid mode), with the aim of consolidating the region's port logistics communities. The regional event will evaluate the development of port activities in Latin America and the Caribbean in the context of the pandemic and will present the progress and initiatives implemented in the field of port sustainability, as well as the outlook for the sector for the coming years. Likewise, it is proposed to know the main challenges of security and cybersecurity of ports, both at the level of operations and infrastructure, as well as safeguarding and protection of information and data. The VI Meeting of Port Logistics Communities, aims to promote regional integration, as well as open a space for permanent debate between port logistics communities on regulatory, technical, technological, commercial and governance matters and promote the reunion of the actors of the maritime - port sector, who will show their progress and experiences in intermodality, digitization, sustainability, port security, as well as learn about good practices on the city-port relationship. Likewise, it is proposed to build a common agenda between integration blocs for the development of economic policies that contribute to the growth of the region.
