The "XXVIII Meeting of the Committee, Administrators of Information Centers and Technical Working Groups" will take place from Tuesday, September 5 to Friday, September 8, 2023, in Panama City, Republic of Panama. On this occasion, the Directorate General of Merchant Marine of the Maritime Authority of Panama will host the AVM Committee Meeting, which will bring together the Maritime Authorities of the region responsible for the exercise of jurisdiction by the port State in the areas of maritime safety, maritime security, maritime facilitation and prevention of pollution caused by ships, as well as Observers and Special Guests, to address issues related to the harmonization of port State control procedures to be used by Port State Control Officers (PSCOs), including the identification of deficiencies and action measures adopted, in each case, in order to eradicate substandard ship operations from ports in the Latin American region. With our country represented by the Maritime Administration of Cuba, we ratify our support and commitment as port States to achieve safe, secure and environmentally friendly maritime transportation.
